Bushveld setting
The town sits in wide, flat bushveld. On the poster the surroundings stay mostly empty, which makes the compact street pattern at the centre stand out sharply.

Northam Map Poster & Print
Northam lies in the Limpopo province of South Africa, on the western limb of the Bushveld Complex, one of the richest platinum-bearing geological formations in the world. The town grew in close connection with mining, and its map shows it: straight residential streets, service roads and industrial sites set in open bushveld, with the landscape stretching away flat and dry around it.
The name Northam is widely associated with the platinum mine that operates nearby and with the company that runs it. Much of the surrounding land is given over to mining, farms and game areas, so the town itself appears as a concentrated cluster in an otherwise sparse landscape, connected by long roads to neighbouring towns in the region.
A Northam map poster works almost like a diagram of how a mining town is organised. Housing, workshops, roads and rail are drawn in the same fine line, and the open veld around them turns into generous white space. The effect is spare and precise, suited to a minimalist interior and to anyone with a working connection to the place.

Mining landscape
Mine sites, access roads and industrial plots form their own geometry around the town. They add large, blocky shapes that contrast with the finer grid of residential streets.
Long straight roads
Regional roads lead out of Northam in long, unwavering lines across the plain, a reminder of the distances between towns in this part of Limpopo.
