Fishpond patchwork
Large rectangular ponds cover much of the land toward the bay, creating a grid-like pattern that looks almost like farmland drawn in water.

Paombong Map Poster & Print
Paombong is a municipality in Bulacan, on the low, wet land just north of Manila Bay. From above, the town centre is a small cluster of streets, but the map is dominated by water: rivers and creeks wind through the area, and large rectangular fishponds cover much of the land toward the coast.
The town is widely known in the Philippines for sukang Paombong, a vinegar made from the sap of the nipa palm, which grows along the brackish rivers here. Fish farming and nipa cultivation have long been part of local life, and both show on the map in the patterns of water and land.
A Paombong map poster has an unusual texture. The fishponds form a patchwork of geometric shapes, the rivers cut curving lines through it, and the roads follow the higher ground between them. It is a map of a place shaped by tides and water as much as by streets.

Winding rivers
Rivers and creeks loop through the municipality, their curves standing out against the straight edges of the ponds.
Town centre
The poblacion forms a compact knot of streets on firmer ground, the densest part of an otherwise open, watery landscape.
