San Bonifacio stands on the plain between Verona and Vicenza, where the foothills of the Lessini mountains give way to level farmland. It has long been a crossing point. The main road and railway between the two cities pass through the town, and the A4 motorway runs close by, so transport lines are a large part of its map.
The town centre is a compact grid of streets around the main square and church. The Alpone stream runs through town on its way south toward the Adige. Around the centre are newer residential quarters and industrial areas along the transport corridors. To the north are the vine-covered hills of the Soave wine area.
