Selu is a town in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra, set on the broad plateau of the Deccan. The land around it is mostly flat or gently rolling farmland, where cotton, soybean and other crops are grown. On a map, the town is a compact, dense cluster, with open agricultural land stretching away on all sides.
Like many market towns in the region, Selu serves the surrounding villages. Roads lead in from several directions and meet near the centre, where the streets are narrow and closely packed. Newer housing and commercial areas have grown along those roads, giving the town an outline that extends outward in a few directions.
