Kakva river
The river loops through the town in wide bends, giving the map a flowing line that contrasts with the straight streets around it.

Serov Map Poster
Serov lies in the north of Sverdlovsk Oblast, on the eastern slopes of the Urals, where the Kakva river winds through thick taiga. The town was founded in 1894 around the Nadezhdinsk steelworks and was known as Nadezhdinsk until 1939. It was then renamed after Anatoly Serov, a test pilot born here.
The metallurgical plant still occupies a large area along the river, and the map shows it as a block of heavy industrial shapes. Residential districts spread out around it in regular Soviet blocks and older wooden streets, while the Kakva bends and loops through the town. Beyond the last houses, forest closes in almost without transition.
A Serov map poster shows an industrial town set in a vast northern landscape. The curving river, the rail lines to the works, and the clear line where city meets taiga give it a strong composition. In a minimal black and white print, the place reads with the directness it has in real life.

Steelworks
The metallurgical plant that founded the town fills a large area near the river. Rail lines lead into it from the surrounding districts.
Taiga edge
Beyond the last residential blocks, forest begins almost at once, framing Serov with an empty, uniform border on every side of the map.
