Siruguppa Map Poster & Print
Siruguppa is a town in Ballari district, in northern Karnataka, on the banks of the Tungabhadra river. The river is the defining feature of the map: a wide, braided channel with islands and sandbanks, marking a natural border along one side of the area.
Water from the Tungabhadra irrigation system has turned the surrounding land into productive paddy country, and Siruguppa is known locally as a rice-growing centre. On the map, canals and field boundaries form a finely ruled pattern around the town, a sharp contrast to the rocky, drier landscape that is typical elsewhere in the region.
A Siruguppa map poster places the compact town between the curve of the river and the lines of the irrigated fields. The streets gather near the centre and thin out toward the edges, and roads lead out to the villages of the taluk. It is a simple composition in which water and farming shape every line.

Irrigation canals
Canals fed from the river cross the farmland in long lines, dividing the land into regular blocks of paddy fields.
Compact town core
The town's streets form a tight cluster near the river, and the roads to nearby villages spread out from there.
