Wudong is a town in the municipality of Chongqing, in the eastern part of the Sichuan Basin. The region is known for its parallel ridges, long folds of hill running northeast to southwest with farmed valleys between them. From above, the town appears as a compact cluster where valley roads meet, surrounded by a patchwork of small fields, ponds and winding lanes.
Little of the land here is truly flat, and the map records that everywhere.
