Zé is a commune in Benin's Atlantique department, inland from the coast and north of the Cotonou area. The landscape is gentle and green, with farmland, oil palms and scattered stands of trees. On the map, the town is not a compact block but a network of roads and tracks linking villages and hamlets spread across the countryside.
