Kojomkul lies on the floor of the Chuy Valley, west of Bishkek, where the land runs almost perfectly flat toward the mountains. From above, the settlement reads as a set of long, parallel lanes lined with house plots, with narrow cross streets cutting between them. Around the houses, the pattern opens into rectangular fields, orchards and tree lines that follow the same compass directions as the streets.
Water shapes this part of Kyrgyzstan more than any hill. Irrigation channels drawn from mountain streams cross the valley in thin, straight lines, and the roads often run beside them. On a map these show up as fine strokes that mark field edges and hold the rural grid together. To the south, the land starts to rise toward the snow ridges of the Kyrgyz Ala-Too.
A Kojomkul map poster keeps things simple: the main road, the grid of residential lanes and the looser tracks heading out into the fields. It is a quiet plan with no dense core. Kyrgyz villages are laid out on generous plots, and the black-and-white print shows that spacing clearly, with white ground between the lines.
Long residential streets run side by side through the settlement, crossed at intervals by shorter lanes, giving the map a calm, ladder-like rhythm.
Narrow canals and ditches carrying mountain water cross the Chuy Valley in straight strokes, marking field boundaries around the edges of the village.
Beyond the houses the map loosens into farm tracks and field strips, a reminder that the settlement sits in one of Kyrgyzstan's main agricultural plains.

Aiheā Kojomkul
For people who grew up here or have family in the Chuy Valley, the lanes of Kojomkul carry a personal memory that a landscape photo rarely captures. A line map shows the exact street, the route to the fields and the shape of home.
