The Bormida river
The river sets the southern edge of the built-up area. Its wide gravel bed and gentle curve form the strongest line on the map, and the spa district faces the town from across it.

Acqui Terme sits in southern Piedmont on the left bank of the Bormida, where the valley opens out below the vineyard hills of the Monferrato. On a map the old core is a tight cluster of streets climbing a low rise. Newer blocks spread along the flatter ground toward the river and the rail line, and the road and track follow the valley north and south.
The town has been known for its hot springs since Roman times. At La Bollente, a small square in the historic centre, water comes out of the ground at around seventy degrees. Across the Bormida, the surviving arches of the Roman aqueduct stand in the riverbed. From above they read as a short row of piers crossing the water, and they are one of the town's clearest map features.
A black and white rendering suits a place like this, where the river, the old centre and the outer hills stay distinct from one another. An Acqui Terme map poster shows the river's curve, the knot of lanes around the spa quarter and the roads that climb into the wine country. It keeps things plain and leaves out colour.

A small piazza in the historic centre, around a hot spring that has been used since antiquity. The streets close in around it in an irregular pattern that sets it apart from the straighter blocks further out.
The remaining piers of the Roman aqueduct cross the Bormida just outside the centre. On a detailed map they show up as a short row of marks across the river.

Ko e hā ʻa Acqui Terme
Many people link Acqui Terme with a stay at the spa, a harvest among the Brachetto vineyards or family roots in the Piedmont hills. A map of the town keeps that connection in view without turning the wall into a travel brochure.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example to add the year of a visit or a family name. There are five styles to pick from: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The HD files cost $9, and printed posters with an optional wooden frame ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
