Ko e mape
Altamira lies in southern Tamaulipas, just north of the Tampico metropolitan area, on low ground between lagoons, wetlands and the Gulf of Mexico. From above, the landscape is defined by water: irregular lagoon shorelines, marshy edges and channels that break up the land into distinct pieces.
The city's modern identity is closely tied to the Port of Altamira, one of the main industrial and cargo ports on Mexico's Gulf Coast. Its basins and terminals form a set of long, deliberate shapes near the coast, quite unlike the older town centre, which follows a more conventional grid of blocks inland.
An Altamira map poster shows those two layers together: the domestic scale of the town streets and the vast, engineered geometry of the port and industrial zones. Surrounded by lagoons and open ground, the city reads on paper as a place where settlement, industry and water all share the frame.
The Port of Altamira's channels and terminals create long, straight-edged shapes near the coast. It is one of the most significant ports on Mexico's Gulf side and dominates the eastern part of the map.
Irregular lagoons and marshland surround the city, giving the map soft, uneven water shapes that contrast with the straight lines of roads and industrial plots.
The older part of Altamira follows a regular pattern of blocks, a compact, orderly core set some distance inland from the port.

Ko e hā ʻa Altamira
A map of Altamira suits people who work at the port or in the surrounding industry, as well as families with roots in southern Tamaulipas. Its mix of water and engineered forms makes a strong graphic print.
You can set your own title, add a subtitle with a name or date, and edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint works especially well for the port's technical geometry.
