Ko e mape
Barroso is a town in the Campo das Vertentes region of Minas Gerais, in the rolling hill country of southeastern Brazil. From above, its streets follow the lie of the land rather than a strict grid, curving along valley floors and climbing gently up the surrounding slopes.
The municipality is known for limestone and cement production, and industrial sites form part of the local landscape alongside farmland and pasture. Roads connect the town to neighbouring centres in the region, including historic towns that give this part of Minas its character.
A Barroso map poster reflects that combination of hills, curving streets and open countryside. The built-up area appears as an irregular, organic shape, framed by empty ground and the roads that link it to the rest of the Campo das Vertentes.
Streets bend to follow valleys and slopes, giving the centre of the map an organic outline rather than a regular grid.
The town lies among the hills of the Campo das Vertentes, and open pasture and farmland fill much of the surrounding map.
Limestone extraction and cement production have long been part of the local economy, and industrial areas sit alongside the town.
