Eau Claire is in west-central Wisconsin, at the confluence of the Chippewa and Eau Claire rivers, and that meeting point defines its map. From above, the rivers loop through the city in broad curves, and downtown sits on the point of land where they join. Bridges cross in several places, and the grid of residential streets spreads out from both banks.
The city grew as a lumber town in the nineteenth century, using the rivers to move logs from the northern forests. Today it is home to the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, whose campus lies along a bend of the Chippewa. It has also become known for an independent music scene linked with musicians such as Justin Vernon of Bon Iver.
An Eau Claire map poster captures the city's shape clearly: the two rivers meeting near the centre, the curve of the Chippewa past the campus and wooded bluffs, and the orderly Midwestern streets filling the land in between. The river lines give the composition movement, while the grid keeps it calm and balanced.

The UW–Eau Claire campus follows a curve of the Chippewa River, with footbridges and paths crossing between academic buildings and residence halls.
Beyond the rivers, the city spreads out in a regular grid of blocks and avenues, with parks and wooded bluffs breaking up the pattern.

Eau Claire is a map for graduates, musicians and families who have lived beside its rivers. Its shape is recognisable at a glance, and it makes a good gift for someone leaving for college or moving away from Wisconsin.
Add a personal title and subtitle, include a graduation year or another date, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Then download 300 DPI files for $9 or order a matte printed poster.
