Gwadar lies on the Makran coast of Balochistan, on the Arabian Sea near the border with Iran. Its shape is one of the most distinctive on any coastline. The old town sits on a narrow sandy isthmus that links the mainland to a rocky headland, with a bay curving on each side. On a map the town looks like a hammerhead, surrounded almost entirely by water.
Gwadar belonged to the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman until 1958, when it was transferred to Pakistan. Since the 2000s it has been developed as a deep-water port, and it is a central point of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor. The port facilities lie along the eastern bay, while the older town's close grid of streets fills the isthmus between the two shores.
A Gwadar map poster makes the most of this geography: the two crescent bays, the narrow neck of dense streets, the headland with its cliffs and the new roads laid out on the mainland. Few towns have such a clear outline. It suits people from Balochistan, those who have worked on the port, and anyone drawn to remarkable coastlines.
The headland of Koh-e-Batil rises at the seaward end of the town. This broad rocky mass is joined to the mainland by a slim isthmus that gives Gwadar its famous outline.
West Bay and East Bay curve on either side of the isthmus. Their two smooth crescents of shoreline frame the town and dominate the composition.
The historic town fills the narrow neck of land between the bays with tightly packed streets, a dense strip of detail between two expanses of open water.

Gwadar's outline is instantly recognisable, which makes it an especially graphic poster for a wall. Add a title and a subtitle naming a year or family, and keep the coordinates line so the place is marked precisely.
The contrast of land and sea reads strongly in all five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The $9 download gives six print sizes as 300 DPI PNG and PDF without watermark, and printed matte posters ship through partners in 30+ countries.
