Königs Wusterhausen lies just beyond Berlin's southeastern edge, where the Dahme river widens into a chain of lakes. From above, the town is a compact centre set beside the water, with the Nottekanal cutting in from the southwest. Residential streets branch out into surrounding villages, and large blocks of pine forest press in on every side. Railway lines and a motorway ring draw firm straight strokes across that softer pattern.
The town has two well-known claims. Its small baroque palace served as a favourite hunting lodge of Frederick William I, the Prussian soldier king. On the Funkerberg hill above town, a transmitter station made Germany's first radio broadcast in 1920, and the site is still remembered as a birthplace of German broadcasting. Today the town is also a busy commuter stop on the regional rail line to Berlin.
A Königs Wusterhausen map poster is mostly about water. Wide lake shapes and the ribbon of the Dahme sit in open white space. The canal adds one straight, deliberate line, and the town's streets cluster where river and railway meet. Around them the forest shows as quiet, unbuilt ground, which gives the whole print a calm, airy balance.

This historic canal joins the Dahme near the centre. Its straight line stands out clearly against the curving shorelines and the meandering river.
The hill east of the centre housed the transmitter behind Germany's first radio broadcast. It reads as a rise edged by paths at the town's fringe.
