Lakeville lies in Dakota County at the southern edge of the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area. Water and curves dominate its map. Lake Marion, Orchard Lake, Lee Lake and several smaller ponds sit among neighbourhoods of looping streets and cul-de-sacs, and farmland still borders the south and west. Interstate 35 runs straight through the middle, the one bold line in an otherwise gently rounded pattern.
The city grew from a small farming township into one of Minnesota's faster-growing suburbs, and most of its residential streets were laid out in recent decades. The older downtown, not far from Lake Marion, keeps a compact block pattern that contrasts with the newer subdivisions around it. Parks, trails and wetland corridors run between neighbourhoods and make the city greener than its population might suggest.
A Lakeville map poster shows how closely water shapes suburban life here. Each lake appears as a clean, solid form, and the curving streets around it read almost like contour lines. For families who chose the city for its lakes and schools, or who spent summers on the shoreline, the map is a quiet, precise record of home.
The largest lake in the city lies southwest of downtown. It is a broad, irregular shape with homes and parkland along parts of its shoreline.
The highway splits into its I-35E and I-35W branches just north of the city. Within Lakeville it cuts a clean north–south line, the strongest straight element on the map.
Recent subdivisions fill the space between the lakes with looping streets and dead-end circles. They create the soft, organic pattern that covers much of the poster.

Suburbs rarely get the same attention as big cities, yet they are where many people spend their most important years. A map of Lakeville can mark a first house, a lake you swam in every summer, or the street where your children learned to ride a bike.
Set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps a family name and move-in date, and choose between Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The $9 download includes six sizes, including 18×24″ and 24×36″, as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF files.
