Ko e mape
Nakaloke is a town in the Eastern Region of Uganda, in the Mbale area. The country here rises gradually toward the slopes of Mount Elgon. From above, the town has an informal, organic pattern. A few main roads carry most of the movement, and smaller tracks branch between homesteads and gardens.
Unlike a gridded city, Nakaloke's map is defined by the way paths follow the land and connect neighbouring settlements. Its edges are soft, and built-up areas fade into cultivated plots rather than stopping at a fixed boundary. That is typical of fast-growing towns in eastern Uganda.
A Nakaloke map poster shows this pattern with clarity: the main roads, the branching lanes and the loose weave of a town still taking shape. In black on white, it becomes a calm, graphic record of a place most maps pass over.
A handful of principal roads link Nakaloke with Mbale and nearby towns. They form the strongest lines on the map and anchor the rest of the pattern.
Smaller tracks spread out between homes and gardens in irregular, organic shapes. They give the print a hand-drawn quality despite its precision.
The town has no hard boundary. Streets thin out gradually into farmland, which the poster shows as a gentle fading of line.
