Ko e mape
Namalombwe lies in Lusaka Province on the high central plateau of Zambia, on the western side of the capital region. From above the landscape is broad and fairly flat, and the built-up area spreads across it in a loose pattern of plots, tracks and a few stronger through-roads.
Like many places around Lusaka, the settlement has grown quickly. On a map, parts of it show regular plot layouts and other parts show a more organic network of paths, with open ground and farmland between the clusters of houses.
A Namalombwe map poster is a portrait of a place in the middle of change. Streets on the edge may look different a few years from now, and that is part of what makes a printed map worth keeping.
A few main routes cross the area and link it to the wider Lusaka region. On the map they give structure to the looser network of local tracks.
Some neighbourhoods show regular rectangular plots, others a more irregular spread. Together they form a varied texture across the open plateau.
Between clusters of houses the map shows fields and bush. That space keeps the composition airy and shows how the settlement is still filling in.

Ko e hā ʻa Namalombwe
For families who built homes in Namalombwe, the map records a place they helped shape. It works well as a gift for someone who has moved away, or as a record of a first house.
Title it with the place name or a family name, add a year in the subtitle, and adjust the coordinates. Paper gives a soft, warm finish. Classic black and white keeps the plot patterns clear.
