Kidsgrove Map Poster & Print
Kidsgrove lies at the northern tip of Staffordshire, just beyond the six towns of the Potteries and right on the border with Cheshire. Its streets spread across rolling ground shaped by coal mining and ironworking, and on a map the town looks loose and irregular, with terraces, estates and green gaps where industry once stood. Higher ground rises to the north towards Mow Cop and its hilltop folly.
The town is best known for water. The Trent and Mersey Canal passes through Harecastle Hill in two parallel tunnels, the first engineered by James Brindley in the eighteenth century and the second by Thomas Telford. Only Telford’s is still navigable. Nearby, at Hardings Wood, the Macclesfield Canal branches off and then crosses over the older canal on an aqueduct.
A Kidsgrove map poster brings out that network: canal lines threading between streets, the railway heading towards the Potteries, and open ground where the landscape was worked for generations. It is a detailed, characterful map rather than a grand one, and it rewards a closer look at its junctions, cuttings and tunnel mouths.

Hardings Wood junction
Here the Macclesfield Canal leaves the Trent and Mersey, then turns and crosses it on an aqueduct, an unusual knot of waterways within a short distance.
Mow Cop ridge
North of town the ground climbs to the Mow Cop ridge, crowned by a mock castle ruin. The rising contours give the map a clear edge on its Cheshire side.

Neden Kidsgrove
Anlam taşıyan bir harita
For boaters and walkers Kidsgrove is a milestone on the canal network, and for local families it is home with deep industrial roots. The map records both: the working landscape and the quiet towpaths that now run through it.
Add a title, a subtitle such as a boat name or a year, and the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand; Blueprint suits the canal engineering well. Download HD files for $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
