Te mapa
Agartala lies on a plain beside the Haora River in western Tripura, so close to Bangladesh that the international border runs just beyond its western edge. On a map the city is marked by water in small pieces rather than one great river: many ponds and tanks scattered among the streets, and the broad rectangular lakes that frame the royal palace at its centre.
That palace, the white Ujjayanta Palace built by the Manikya kings at the turn of the twentieth century, now houses the state museum and stands behind formal gardens and reflecting pools. Around it, the street pattern mixes older, irregular roads with more recent planned districts, and hills covered in forest and plantations rise to the east of the city.
An Agartala map poster shows a capital shaped by its position at the edge of India's northeast. Roads lead out toward the hills and the Akhaura border crossing, while the centre is a close web of streets broken by the calm shapes of lakes and ponds. The overall effect is intimate and detailed, a city drawn at human scale.
Two large lakes and formal gardens in front of the former royal palace form the clearest geometric shapes in the centre of the map.
Small ponds and water tanks are scattered through the residential neighbourhoods, appearing on the poster as quiet points of open space within the street network.
The Haora winds along the southern side of the city on its way into Bangladesh, adding a soft natural line to the edge of the urban area.

Koteā ko Agartala
Agartala is a city many people carry with them after moving to Kolkata, Bengaluru or abroad, and a map of it is a way to hold on to its lakes, its palace and its quieter pace. It makes a thoughtful gift for family in Tripura or for those who left.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be edited to name a neighbourhood, a date or a person. Five styles are offered, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, and the poster is available as print-ready files or as a printed matte poster.
