Te mapa
Alamaiti lies in the Kashgar area of Xinjiang, in the belt of oases along the western rim of the Tarim Basin. Farming in this dry region depends entirely on water brought from rivers fed by the surrounding mountains. That dependence shapes the land: cultivated ground ends sharply where the irrigation network stops.
From above, the settlement appears as a cluster of streets and courtyard compounds set among long, narrow fields. Canals and ditches run in straight lines, often lined with rows of poplars, dividing the land into regular strips. Roads follow the same grid. It is an orderly landscape designed around the movement of water.
An Alamaiti map poster reflects that careful geometry. The composition is made of parallel lines, small blocks and long field edges, and the open desert lies beyond. It is a quiet, precise image of how people have made a life in one of Central Asia's great dry basins.
Straight canals and ditches cross the land in a regular pattern. They carry the water that makes farming possible in the oasis.
Farmland is divided into long, narrow plots, often bordered by rows of trees. Together they form a striped, orderly texture around the settlement.
Beyond the irrigated ground the map becomes nearly empty. That sharp boundary between cultivated land and dry basin is typical of the region.
