Te mapa
Amizmiz lies southwest of Marrakesh, at the point where the flat, farmed Haouz plain gives way to the first slopes of the High Atlas. From above, the town appears as a dense cluster of streets and low buildings on rising ground. Roads fan out across the plain to the north and narrow into mountain valleys to the south.
The older quarters are made up of tight, irregular lanes, with the old kasbah area and the former Jewish quarter, the mellah, still part of the town's fabric. Newer neighbourhoods spread along the main roads in a more regular pattern. Beyond them, orchards and fields follow the watercourses coming down from the mountains.
Amizmiz is known for its weekly Tuesday souk, which draws people from villages across the surrounding valleys, and for its local pottery. The town was among those affected by the 2023 Al Haouz earthquake. An Amizmiz map poster shows its setting clearly, a market town poised between the lowland and the high peaks.
The High Atlas rises directly south of town, so the map shifts from open plain to steep, folded terrain, with roads following the valleys into the mountains.
Narrow, winding lanes in the older parts of Amizmiz, including the former mellah and the kasbah area, form a dense, intricate knot at the heart of the poster.
Straight roads cross the flat Haouz plain toward Marrakesh and neighbouring towns, bold lines that contrast with the curving mountain routes to the south.

Koteā ko Amizmiz
People hang this map to remember trips into the Atlas, market days in Amizmiz, or family roots in the villages around it. For many, it is also a quiet way of honouring a town that has worked hard to rebuild after the earthquake.
Personalise the title and subtitle with a name, a date or a short line, and adjust the coordinates. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download HD files for $9 or order a printed matte poster, with a wooden frame if you like.
