Te mapa
Andover lies in north Hampshire, in the chalk country of the Test Valley. The old centre is small and easy to recognise on a map: a market street area with narrow roads running off it, and the River Anton threading through the town in thin channels before it moves south towards the River Test.
Much of the modern town grew after the 1960s, when Andover was expanded to take people and businesses moving out of London. That expansion shows clearly from above. Around the historic core, newer housing estates spread out in curving closes and loops, and an industrial area and business parks sit on the edges.
To the south, the A303 forms a strong bypass line on the way to the West Country. An Andover map poster captures both periods: an irregular market town core and a planned outer ring. It is a good example of how an English town can hold two different street patterns in one composition.

The overspill estates built from the 1960s wrap the old centre in curving roads and cul-de-sacs, visibly different from the older streets.
The trunk road passes south of town in a long sweep, a route familiar to anyone who has driven from London towards Stonehenge and the southwest.

Koteā ko Andover
Andover is a place many families moved to from London and later called home. A map of the town reflects that story: the old market centre, the estates where people settled and the roads that connect them.
