Te mapa
Anju lies in South Pyongan Province on the Chongchon River, one of the main rivers in the northwest of the Korean peninsula. The city grew on the lowland beside the water, and on a map it reads as a tight core of streets with farmland and river channels spreading out around it.
The Chongchon has had a place in Korean history for a long time. The river is identified with the Salsu, where Goguryeo forces defeated a Sui army in 612. Anju was a walled town for centuries, and the Paeksang Pavilion on its old fortification is counted among the country's classic viewpoints.
In modern times Anju is known mostly as a centre of coal mining and industry. An Anju map poster shows a river city in simple lines: the wide Chongchon, the dense blocks along its bank, and the flat, orderly land that stretches toward the coast.
The river runs broad and slow past the city. On the poster its channels and sandbanks make the strongest shape in the frame.
The historic walled town stood on raised ground beside the river. The street pattern around it is tighter and less regular than the districts built later.
Around the built-up area the map is flat and open, crossed by roads and waterways. The low density makes the city core look especially compact.

Koteā ko Anju
Anju appeals to people interested in Korean history, river geography, or places that rarely show up as prints. The poster turns a city most people have only read about into a clear, calm image.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be edited, and the map comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Choose the $9 HD files for your own printer or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
