Te mapa
Annobón is the most remote part of Equatorial Guinea, a small volcanic island in the Gulf of Guinea that lies south of São Tomé and hundreds of kilometres from the rest of the country. Its name comes from the Portuguese for good year. By tradition, Portuguese sailors first sighted it on New Year's Day in the fifteenth century.
The island is roughly oval and rises steeply from the sea to a series of peaks, with a crater lake in the high interior. Most people live in San Antonio de Palé on the northern coast, the main town. Its short streets and the airstrip provide most of the linework on an Annobón Island map poster. The rest is slope, forest and a rocky shoreline.
Its isolation has shaped a distinct culture. Islanders speak Fa d'Ambô, a Portuguese-based creole, rather than the languages of the mainland. The island and its waters are protected as a nature reserve known for seabirds and marine life. Visitors are rare, which makes a map of Annobón an unusual thing to own.

The island's main town lies on the northern shore, a compact cluster of streets beside the sea where most of the population lives.
The nearest land lies far beyond the frame, so the island's rounded outline sits alone in the Gulf of Guinea, a simple and striking composition.

Koteā ko Annobón Island
For Annobonese living in Malabo, Bata or abroad, and for the few travellers and researchers who have made the long journey, a map of the island is a rare thing to own. Its compact shape works at small print sizes as well as large ones.
Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with the island's name in Spanish or Fa d'Ambô. HD files are $9 with no watermark, or you can order a matte print shipped from a partner near you.
