Te mapa
Antelope is an unincorporated community in Sacramento County, on the northern edge of the Sacramento metropolitan area. Its map is a clear example of late twentieth-century suburban planning: looping residential streets, short cul-de-sacs branching off collector roads, and neighbourhood parks tucked between housing tracts. Few streets run perfectly straight, which gives the drawing a flowing, almost organic quality.
A railway line runs diagonally through the area, one of the few truly rigid lines on the map, and it sets off the curving street pattern around it. Larger arterial roads frame the neighbourhoods in rough rectangles, and inside each rectangle the smaller streets twist and fold in their own way.
Green strips follow creeks and drainage channels, adding breaks in the density of streets. An Antelope map poster works well because of this contrast between the tidy frame of arterials and the looser, curling patterns inside, a pattern that looks different from any old-town grid.
Crescent-shaped streets and cul-de-sacs fill each neighbourhood block, creating a dense, curling texture that reads almost like a fingerprint at poster scale.
A railway cuts across the community at an angle, a single straight stroke that contrasts sharply with the soft curves of the surrounding streets.
Narrow green corridors follow local creeks between housing tracts, leaving open ribbons of white space running through the street network.

Koteā ko Antelope
Antelope is where many families bought their first house, raised children, or settled after moving to the Sacramento area. A map of the neighbourhood marks that chapter, and the title can carry a street name, a move-in date, or simply the name of the family.
Choose Classic black and white for a clean, graphic look, or Paper for a softer tone in a living room or hallway. Noir, Blueprint and Sand are also available, and the subtitle and coordinates line can be adjusted to match.
