The Black Sea shoreline and the highway beside it run in a long, nearly straight line. They give the poster a strong horizontal base below the town.

Te mapa
Ardeşen stretches along the eastern Black Sea coast of Turkey, in Rize Province. Steep, forested slopes rise almost directly from the shore, so the town has grown in a long strip. On a map it reads as a ribbon of streets squeezed between the coastal highway and the hills, with the sea forming a clean edge along the north.
East of the town, the Fırtına stream comes down from the Kaçkar Mountains and enters the sea. Its valley is known for old stone bridges, and the river is popular for rafting. Inland, roads follow the valleys upward toward the high pastures of the Hemşin area, crossing and recrossing the water.
The hillsides around Ardeşen are covered in tea gardens, as they are across much of Rize. Houses are scattered over the slopes rather than gathered into blocks. An Ardeşen map poster captures that setup: a straight shoreline, a busy coastal strip, and valleys leading steeply into the mountains.
The Black Sea shoreline and the highway beside it run in a long, nearly straight line. They give the poster a strong horizontal base below the town.
East of the centre, the Fırtına stream flows down from the Kaçkar range. Its winding course and valley road lead the eye inland from the coast.
Above the town, small roads zigzag up hillsides planted with tea. Scattered houses follow them, so the street pattern thins out as the land rises.

Koteā ko Ardeşen
Ardeşen is a place people leave for work and come back to every summer. A map of the coast and the valley is a natural keepsake for the Black Sea diaspora, and for travellers who came through on their way to the Kaçkar mountains.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a village name, a family name or a year. The five styles are Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint suits the strong sea edge especially well.
