Arīsh is the capital of North Sinai Governorate and the largest city on the Sinai Peninsula. It lies on the Mediterranean coast, where Wadi el-Arish, the long, usually dry valley that drains much of northern Sinai, reaches the sea. The town has been a stop on the coastal route between Egypt and the Levant since ancient times.
On a map the coastline sets the main direction. Streets run inland from a shore known for its palm groves and pale sand, and the town spreads out on either side of the wadi's broad bed. Beyond the built-up edge the pattern breaks up into farm plots and then open desert, so the town's outline is sharp against the empty land around it.
An Arīsh map poster brings together three elements: the straight edge of the sea, the soft line of the wadi and the street grid between them. The result is a spare composition that suits the black-and-white style well.
A long, gently curving coastline forms the northern edge of the city. The beach, lined with date palms, runs along almost its full length.
The broad desert watercourse reaches the sea at the edge of town, leaving a wide, open band on the map that divides the neighbourhoods.
Beyond the town, farm plots quickly give way to open sand, so the urban area stands out as a clearly outlined shape against empty space.

Koteā ko Arīsh
For people from North Sinai, or anyone with memories of the Arīsh coast, a map of the town is a quiet way to keep that place close. The mix of sea, wadi and streets makes it a strong print for a home or office.
Set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps a family name or a year, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download the $9 HD file or order a printed poster.
