Te mapa
Arujá lies in the Alto Tietê area of Greater São Paulo, northeast of the capital and close to Guarulhos. Its map is shaped by hills: rather than a strict grid, streets curve along slopes and valleys, and many residential neighbourhoods follow the terrain in loops and cul-de-sacs. The Via Dutra highway, linking São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, cuts through the municipality.
The town is known for its many gated residential communities, set among wooded areas that remain surprisingly green given how close they are to Brazil's largest city. Along the highway, industrial and logistics sites form larger, more regular blocks. Between them, older central streets keep a more compact layout.
An Arujá map poster captures the contrast between the curving residential streets, the straight line of the Dutra and the open green spaces between them. It suits families who moved out of the capital for more space and anyone who knows the road between São Paulo and Rio well.
The highway runs across the municipality in a long, strong line, the clearest feature on the map and the main link toward São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
Residential streets follow the hills in loops and bends, giving the poster a softer, more organic pattern than the grids found elsewhere in the metropolis.
Wooded slopes and open ground separate the neighbourhoods, leaving calm blank areas that make the street pattern easier to read.
