Asni Map Poster & Print

Asni lies in the foothills of the High Atlas, south of Marrakesh, on the valley road many travellers take towards Imlil and the approach to Jbel Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. It is a rural commune with a small centre and many villages spread across the surrounding valleys. Life here follows the mountain seasons and the farming of irrigated terraces.

The map is shaped by the land more than by planning. The main road follows the valley and bends with the slopes. Paths and small tracks branch off towards hamlets on the hillsides. Where the valley floor is irrigated, the land is closely farmed. Higher up, the lines become sparse and the terrain takes over.

An Asni map poster suits trekkers who passed through on the way to Toubkal, travellers who spent time in the Atlas villages, and families from the region. The drawing is spare, in keeping with a place where mountains and valleys matter more than streets.

01

Valley road

The main road runs along the valley from the Marrakesh direction towards Imlil. It is the clearest and most continuous line on the map.

02

Scattered villages

Small hamlets sit on slopes and valley edges. On paper they appear as small clusters linked by narrow paths.

03

Mountain terrain

Above the valley floor the lines thin out quickly. Wide open areas show the steep ground of the High Atlas.
