Te mapa
Aspe sits in the middle Vinalopó valley in Alicante province, between Novelda and Elche. On a map, the old town is a tight knot of short, irregular streets around the main church and square. Newer blocks fan out from it on a looser grid, and past them the land breaks into small cultivated plots divided by rural lanes and low stone terraces.
The town is closely linked to the Vinalopó table grape, which is grown in bags on the vine and is widely eaten in Spain on New Year's Eve. That crop explains the fine texture of the surrounding map: dozens of small, regular parcels, each outlined by a track. Dry ravines, or ramblas, wind through the plots and mark where water runs after storms.
An Aspe map poster places the dense historic centre against that agricultural patchwork. Main roads head toward Elche, Novelda and Alicante, and the hills to the west give the edge of the town a firmer outline. In black and white, the contrast between the crowded core and the open country around it comes through clearly.
Narrow, winding streets gather around the basilica and central square, forming the densest part of the map before the grid of later neighbourhoods begins.
Small, regular vineyard parcels cover the flat ground around town, drawn as a close mesh of field edges and farm tracks.
Seasonal dry riverbeds wind through the countryside, cutting soft, curved lines across the otherwise straight field divisions of the Vinalopó valley.

Koteā ko Aspe
Aspe is a place people leave and come back to, especially in grape season and during the town's festivals. A clean street plan of the old centre makes a thoughtful gift, or simply a reminder of where a family's roots lie.
