Te mapa
Ayutla de los Libres lies in the state of Guerrero in southern Mexico, in the hills inland from the Costa Chica. From above, the town shows a classic Mexican pattern: a central plaza and a roughly regular grid of blocks around it. The grid then loosens and bends as streets reach the surrounding slopes.
The town's name carries national history. In 1854 the Plan of Ayutla was proclaimed here, a political manifesto that led to the fall of Antonio López de Santa Anna and opened the period of liberal reform. More recently, the municipality has become known for choosing its authorities through community-based customary systems.
An Ayutla de los Libres map poster sets that history against its physical setting: a modest grid, streams cutting through the valley and roads that twist into the hills toward outlying communities. In monochrome, the contrast between the ordered centre and the irregular edges is especially clear.
A regular pattern of blocks around the main plaza forms the town's core. It is the most orderly part of the map.
Beyond the centre, roads curve and switch back through the surrounding hills and give the edges of the print a looser, organic texture.
The town where the 1854 Plan of Ayutla was proclaimed. A title or subtitle can make that history part of the poster.
