Baberu lies in Banda district in the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh, on the broad plains south of the Yamuna. The town's layout is dense and irregular, a core of narrow lanes with main roads leading out toward surrounding villages and the district town of Banda. Beyond the built-up area the land opens into fields, with only a light scatter of tracks and settlements.
