Te mapa
Bahawalpur lies in southern Punjab, between the Sutlej River to the north and the Cholistan Desert to the south. The map reflects that position: irrigated farmland and canals surround the city on one side, while the land to the south becomes open and sparsely built. The urban area combines a dense older core with wider planned roads and large compounds.
The city was the capital of the princely state of Bahawalpur, and its palaces remain among its best-known sights, including the Noor Mahal and the Darbar Mahal. The Lal Suhanra National Park lies not far from the city, and the region's desert forts draw visitors further south.
A Bahawalpur map poster shows the balance between these elements: the tight streets of the old city, the broad grounds of palaces and institutions, and the straight lines of canals across the farmland. It is a map of a city built at the meeting point of river plain and desert.
Large walled compounds and gardens around the former royal palaces appear as open, orderly shapes set within the denser surrounding streets.
Irrigation canals run in long straight or gently curving lines across the farmland around the city, a defining feature of the Punjab plain.
South of the city the street network thins quickly, marking the transition toward the open ground of the Cholistan Desert.

Koteā ko Bahawalpur
Bahawalpur speaks to families with roots in the old state, graduates of its universities, and travellers who came for the palaces. The contrast between dense streets and open ground makes a distinctive print.
