Te mapa
Baraut lies in Baghpat district in western Uttar Pradesh, on the flat, fertile land between the Yamuna and the Ganges. On a map, the town appears as a dense knot of narrow, irregular lanes at the centre, surrounded by newer, somewhat more regular streets. Outside the town, the land is divided into small agricultural plots, with village roads and canals crossing it.
Baraut is a market town for a strongly agricultural area, where sugarcane is one of the main crops. Its location on the road between Delhi and the towns to the north has made it a local hub for trade and services. It remains closely tied to the farming villages around it.
A Baraut map poster emphasises texture over monuments. The tight lanes of the old centre form a dark, intricate cluster, and the main roads running out of it are clearly visible. The fields beyond look like a finely ruled surface. It is an image that feels grounded and specific, like the town itself.
The central lanes are narrow and irregular, packed closely together. On the map they create a dense, detailed centre that shows how long the town has been a trading place.
A major road runs through the town, connecting it with Delhi and the north. It forms a strong line that orders the growth around it.
Small plots, tracks and irrigation channels surround the town on all sides. They give the edges of the map a quiet, finely divided pattern.
