Te mapa
Batemans Bay lies on the south coast of New South Wales, where the Clyde River opens into the bay that gives the town its name. From above the town is shaped by water on several sides: the wide estuary to the north, the bay to the east and a shoreline broken into small beaches and rocky points to the south. The streets follow the ridges and the waterfront.
The Princes Highway crosses the Clyde here, and the bridge is a key link on the coast road. The current bridge opened in 2021, replacing the older lift-span crossing. The Clyde estuary is also known for its oysters, and the river's lower reaches are lined with leases.
A Batemans Bay map poster captures that play of land and water: the curve of the estuary, the line of the bridge, the town centre on the south bank, and a chain of beaches and headlands along the coast. It is a lively, detailed composition, and very recognisable to anyone who has driven the south coast.
The river widens into a broad estuary before meeting the bay. On the poster it forms a large, open shape along the northern edge of the town.
The Princes Highway bridge crosses the Clyde near the town centre. Its straight line across the estuary is one of the most distinctive details on the map.
South of the town, the coast breaks into small beaches separated by rocky points. Together they create a scalloped edge along the shoreline.

Koteā ko Batemans Bay
Batemans Bay is where many Canberra families have spent their summers, and where many others have chosen to settle. A map of the bay, the river and the beaches is a warm reminder of those weeks by the water.
