Te mapa
Belén is a town in the west of Catamarca province in northwest Argentina. It sits in a dry valley surrounded by mountains, beside the river of the same name. The centre follows the regular grid used across Spanish colonial towns, with a main plaza and square blocks around it. From above, the orderly streets contrast with the riverbed and the steep, bare slopes just outside town.
Belén is known for its weaving. Ponchos and textiles made from sheep, llama and vicuña wool are a long-standing local craft, and the town is often called the cradle of the poncho. A large statue of the Virgin of Belén stands on a hill above the town, reached by a path up the slope, and it offers a view down over the grid.
A Belén map poster shows a clear design: a grid of streets, a plaza at its centre, a river to one side and mountains beyond. The regular blocks read crisply on paper, and the open land around them gives the grid room. It is a good print for weavers, visitors who climbed to the statue, and families with roots in Catamarca.
Square blocks around a central plaza give the town a regular, even pattern that is easy to read on the map.
The river runs along the edge of town, its dry, stony bed drawn as a wide band beside the grid.
A hill above the town holds the statue of the Virgin of Belén, with a path climbing up the slope from the streets below.

Koteā ko Belén
For people from Belén and for anyone who travelled through Catamarca's valleys, this map is a way to keep a sense of place: the plaza, the river, the hill. It hangs well beside a woven textile or a family photograph.
Personalise the title, the subtitle and the coordinates line in Spanish or English. Sand suits the dry valley well, Paper feels archival, and Classic black & white, Noir and Blueprint bring out the neat geometry of the grid.
