Te mapa
Belmont sits midway along the San Francisco Peninsula in San Mateo County, between San Carlos and San Mateo. The map divides clearly into two parts. To the east is flat land along Highway 101, the Caltrain line and the bay. To the west are hills where streets wind along the contours. Ralston Avenue runs between them as the city's main east–west route.
The hills give Belmont its character on paper. Residential streets loop and branch in irregular patterns, with cul-de-sacs tucked into canyons and parkland on the higher ground. Down on the flats the grid is more regular. Commercial parcels sit near the station and the highway, and marsh channels run along Belmont Slough toward the bay.
The city is home to Notre Dame de Namur University, whose campus includes Ralston Hall, the mansion of the nineteenth-century banker William Ralston. A Belmont map poster shows a classic Peninsula composition: bay, rail, freeway and hills lie in parallel bands running north to south, and each band has its own kind of line.
West of El Camino Real, residential streets climb the hills in curving loops and cul-de-sacs. This is the most intricate part of the map.
The city's main east–west road runs from the bayside to the hills. It crosses the rail line and links the flat and sloping halves of town.
Toward the bay, tidal channels and marshland near the slough draw fine, irregular lines along the eastern edge of the city.

Koteā ko Belmont
Many Bay Area families settle in Belmont for the hills and the schools, and people remember it fondly after moving on. The hillside curves set against the flatland grid give the composition real depth.
Add a custom title, a subtitle such as a move-in date, and your own coordinates line. Classic black & white and Noir bring out the hills, and Blueprint suits the bayside. Download for $9 or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
