Te mapa
Busia lies on Kenya's western border with Uganda, and the international boundary is the defining fact of its map. The town has a twin on the Ugandan side, also called Busia, and the two built-up areas meet at the crossing. The main road runs straight to the border post, with commercial streets branching off it and residential areas spreading out behind.
The Busia crossing is one of the busiest land borders in East Africa, on the Northern Corridor that carries goods between the port of Mombasa and Uganda and beyond. Long lines of trucks are a familiar sight on the approach roads. To the south the land drops gradually toward the northeastern shores of Lake Victoria.
A Busia map poster shows a town organised around movement: a main road, a border and two settlements meeting at a line. In monochrome the road network becomes the main subject, with dense blocks near the crossing thinning out into the surrounding farmland. It is a meaningful map for people who live, trade or travel here.
The main road leads straight to the boundary with Uganda, where the two Busias meet. This point is the natural focus of the composition.
The highway through town is part of the long trade route from Mombasa. It forms a strong axis that runs across the whole poster.
Streets continue across the border into the Ugandan Busia. On the map the two towns read as one continuous settlement divided by a line.

Koteā ko Busia
Busia means something particular to people who grew up there, work in cross-border trade or crossed here on a long journey. A map of it records a meeting point, not just a place.
