Te mapa
Caçapava lies in the Paraíba Valley in the east of São Paulo State, between São José dos Campos and Taubaté. From above, the town's streets spread across gently rolling ground. The Via Dutra, the main highway linking São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, runs past it as a strong straight line, and the Paraíba do Sul River winds through the lowlands nearby in broad, lazy bends.
The city is part of the urbanised corridor that grew along the Via Dutra, and its economy mixes industry, services and farming. Its older centre retains a traditional layout around its main church square, while newer neighbourhoods have spread over the surrounding hills.
A Caçapava map poster places the city between two very different lines: the engineered straightness of the highway and the natural meanders of the river. Between them, the town's streets form a mix of regular blocks and hillside curves. It is a balanced, readable composition that shows how the valley has been shaped by both nature and transport.
The highway between São Paulo and Rio passes the city as a long straight line, shaping how the town has grown and connecting it to the valley's other cities.
The river curves through the valley floor in wide meanders, with floodplain and farmland along its banks forming a green, open zone on the map.
Beyond the flatter centre, neighbourhoods climb the surrounding hills, and their streets bend and loop to follow the rolling terrain.
