Calvià covers much of southwest Mallorca, from the edge of Palma to the hills near Andratx. The municipality includes the inland villages of Calvià and Es Capdellà, but most of its streets lie along the coast, in resorts and towns such as Palmanova, Magaluf, Santa Ponsa and Portals Nous.
On a map the coastline is everything: a sequence of bays, coves and rocky points, each with its own small network of streets bending around the water. Marinas appear as angular basins, and further inland the hills rise toward the Serra de Tramuntana, with roads winding through pine woods and scattered villas.
