Çan Map Poster & Print

Çan lies inland in Çanakkale province in northwestern Turkey, away from the Dardanelles and the Aegean coast. The town sits in a valley surrounded by wooded hills, and from above its streets follow the lie of the land, with the centre concentrated on flatter ground and newer neighbourhoods climbing the slopes around it.

The town is closely associated with industry. Lignite has long been mined in the area and supports a power station nearby, and Çan is known across Turkey as a centre of ceramic tile production. Industrial sites and mining areas appear on the map as large, distinct shapes set apart from the residential streets.

A Çan map poster shows a working town set among hills: a compact centre, the outlines of industrial areas, and roads winding into the surrounding countryside. It is a composition with a clear sense of place, and it translates well into a restrained black-and-white print.

Valley centre

The town's core occupies the flatter valley floor, with streets curving to follow the terrain and newer housing spreading up the surrounding slopes.

02

Industrial areas

Ceramic factories and the nearby coal and power infrastructure appear as large, clearly defined blocks, contrasting with the finer residential street pattern.

03

Wooded hills

The surrounding hills are largely forested, and on the map they provide open space around the town, crossed by winding rural roads.

People who grew up in Çan, or whose families worked in its factories and mines, often feel a strong tie to the town. A map is a personal and understated way to keep it close.

You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a name or a date, and choose from five styles. Noir gives the industrial shapes a strong presence, while Paper softens the hills.
