Te mapa
Canna is the westernmost of the Small Isles in Scotland's Inner Hebrides, south of Skye. It is long and narrow, with stepped basalt terraces rising to high cliffs on the north side. From above, the island looks like a narrow strip of land pointing out into the Atlantic, with a smaller island, Sanday, lying close to its southeastern end.
The harbour between Canna and Sanday is one of the best-sheltered anchorages in the Hebrides, and the two islands are linked by a bridge. Near the harbour sit the island's few houses, a farm and small churches. A single track runs along much of the island's length.
At the eastern end rises Compass Hill, known for affecting ships' compasses. The island is owned by the National Trust for Scotland, which also cares for the collection of Gaelic song and folklore assembled by John Lorne Campbell. A Canna map poster centres on the harbour and the long shape beyond.
The anchorage between Canna and Sanday is protected on nearly every side. On the map it forms a small, enclosed pocket of water where the island's settlement gathers.
A bridge links Canna to the smaller island of Sanday. On the poster it is a short connecting line across the harbour, tying the two outlines together.
The hill at the eastern end is said to disturb ships' compasses. It rises above the harbour and marks the start of the island's long northern cliffs.

Koteā ko Canna
Canna attracts sailors, walkers and people drawn to Gaelic culture and the Hebrides. A map of it is a quiet reminder of a small, far-off community and a good anchorage, well suited to a study or a sailing club wall.
Add a boat name or a date to the title and subtitle, and set the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint makes it read like a sea chart, and Paper keeps it gentle.
