Te mapa
Chitato is a municipality in Angola's Lunda Norte province, in the far northeast of the country near the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Its main urban centre is the town of Dundo. On a map the settlement appears as a modest network of streets set in wide open country, with a river valley shaping one side and roads leading out across the savanna.
The older part of the town has a planned character, with straight roads and regular blocks laid out during the colonial period, while newer neighbourhoods spread more loosely at the edges. The Luachimo River passes close by, its valley adding a curving natural line to the composition. Beyond the built-up area, the map opens into largely empty land crossed by a few long roads.
The region is known for diamond mining, which shaped its development through the twentieth century, and Dundo is home to a museum known for its collections of Chokwe art and culture. A Chitato map poster offers a simple view of a remote town, focused on its streets, its river and the open space around it.

The river runs past the town in a curving valley, adding a soft natural line that contrasts with the straight roads of the settlement.
Beyond the last streets, the map is mostly empty space crossed by a few long roads, a minimal composition that emphasises how the town sits within a vast landscape.

This is a map for people with family ties to Lunda Norte, or for those who lived and worked in the diamond region and want a quiet reminder of it. Its spare composition also suits a minimalist interior.
