Chudovo is a town in Novgorod Oblast in north-western Russia, situated on the Kerest River in a flat, heavily forested landscape. It lies on the main railway between Moscow and St Petersburg, and on the highway following the same route, which has shaped both its growth and its map.
The poet Nikolai Nekrasov had a house here, which he used during hunting trips, and it is now a museum. On a map, the town's streets are organised along the railway and the main road, with residential districts on both sides. The river winds through the town, and beyond the edges, forest and marshland spread in almost every direction.
