Te mapa
Ciudad Real was founded in 1255 by Alfonso X of Castile as Villa Real, and its map still shows the shape of that foundation. The old walls are gone, but the ring road that replaced them, the Ronda, draws a near-oval loop around the historic centre. Inside, streets lead toward the Plaza Mayor, and outside, the city spreads onto the flat plain.
One gate survives, the Puerta de Toledo, standing on the northern edge of the ring. Beyond the Ronda, residential districts, a university campus and parks extend outward, and the high-speed railway between Madrid and Seville passes along the south, with a station that links the city to both in little time.
A Ciudad Real map poster is a striking composition: a clear oval set on an open plain. This is the heart of La Mancha, the landscape of Don Quixote, where windmills and wide fields stretch in every direction. On the map, the city reads as a single, strong shape against that open ground.

The one surviving gate of the old walls stands on the northern edge of the ring, a fourteenth-century landmark at the city's historic entrance.
The AVE line from Madrid to Seville passes the southern edge of the city, a long clean curve through the surrounding plain.

Koteā ko Ciudad Real
Ciudad Real is a city of students, civil servants and families with long ties to La Mancha. Its oval shape makes it one of the most graphic city maps in Spain, instantly recognisable to anyone who has driven the Ronda.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a graduation year, and choose one of five styles. The $9 digital files include six sizes as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF, and printed posters come on matte paper.
