Te mapa
Coity is on the northeastern side of Bridgend in South Wales. The historic village clusters around the ruins of Coity Castle, while the wider area includes large modern housing developments that have grown out toward it. From above, the contrast is clear: a few old lanes around the castle, surrounded by the curving cul-de-sacs of more recent estates.
Coity Castle was founded after the Norman conquest of Glamorgan and extended over later centuries. Its ruined walls still stand next to the village church. Farther north, the land rises toward the hills that lead into the South Wales valleys, and fields and woodland fill the gaps between the settlements.
A Coity map poster tells this layered story in simple lines. The medieval core is small and irregular, the later estates add loops and branching roads, and the open land to the north keeps the composition light. It is a quiet, detailed map of a place where centuries of settlement sit side by side.
The castle ruins and the church next to them anchor the old village, whose short winding lanes form the oldest part of the map.
Newer housing to the south and west appears as looping cul-de-sacs and crescents, a very different texture from the historic core.
To the north, fields and wooded slopes climb toward the valleys, leaving open space at the top of the map.
