Te mapa
Cruzeiro do Oeste is a municipality in the northwest of Paraná, a part of Brazil opened to settlement in the mid-twentieth century as farming pushed west across the state. Towns in this region were often laid out in advance, and the map shows it: a regular grid of streets set out on open ground, with the countryside close on every side.
The central blocks form an even chequerboard, broken by squares and a few wider avenues that carry traffic through town. Where the grid reaches its edges it simply stops, meeting the fields in straight lines instead of fading into sprawl. Streams run through the surrounding land in shallow valleys and draw thin, irregular lines that contrast with the ruled town plan.
A Cruzeiro do Oeste map poster is essentially a portrait of order set against open land. It looks calm and architectural on a wall. For families whose roots go back to the settlement years, or whose farms lie just outside town, the grid is a familiar shorthand for home.

Squares punctuate the grid and read on the map as small pauses in the street pattern, which makes the centre easy to pick out at a glance.
The street network ends abruptly at the fields, giving the town a crisp outline that is easy to recognise at any print size.

Koteā ko Cruzeiro do Oeste
Grid towns print well because their geometry reads from across a room. A map of Cruzeiro do Oeste suits a home office, a family house far from Paraná or the wall of someone who grew up walking those straight blocks.
