Te mapa
Dausa is a town in eastern Rajasthan and the headquarters of Dausa district, some fifty kilometres east of Jaipur. On a map it sits on the main road towards Agra. Its streets gather around a dense old centre, and newer areas spread along the highway and the railway line. Low, rocky hills rise near the town and break up the flat farmland around it.
The older part of Dausa has a compact, irregular pattern of lanes and bazaars, typical of Rajasthani market towns. The outskirts are looser, with fields, small settlements and roads leading into the countryside. The railway and the highway run as strong lines through the landscape, linking Dausa to Jaipur on one side and to Bharatpur and Agra on the other.
The district is known for the Chand Baori stepwell at Abhaneri, one of the deepest and most intricate in India, and for the Mehandipur Balaji temple, which draws pilgrims from across the country. A Dausa map poster shows the town itself in calm detail: the old centre, the lines of road and rail, and the hills beside it.
The main highway and the railway cross the map in long straight lines. They form the backbone of the town and connect it to Jaipur in one direction and Agra in the other.
The historic centre is a dense web of narrow streets and small bazaars. This fine, intricate texture stands out clearly against the open land around it.
Low hills rise close to the town, and their bare slopes appear as open shapes on the map. They give the composition a natural focal point and a sense of relief.

Koteā ko Dausa
Many families from Dausa now live in Jaipur, Delhi or further afield, and a map of the town is a clear, lasting reminder of home. It also works as a thoughtful gift for a wedding, a housewarming or a relative who has moved away.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, for example with a family name or a special date. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand echoes the warm tones of the Rajasthan landscape.
