Te mapa
Dinajpur lies in the far northwest of Bangladesh, close to the Indian border, on the wide alluvial plain of the Rangpur Division. The Punarbhaba River runs along the western side of the town, and the land is almost perfectly level, so the street map spreads outward in a loose web of lanes rather than following any hill or slope.
The district has long been known for rice and litchi orchards, and the countryside shows on the map as a patchwork of fields, village clusters and ponds. Just south of town is Ramsagar, a large rectangular reservoir dug in the eighteenth century and one of the biggest man-made tanks in the country, its hard straight edges clearly visible from above.
About twenty kilometres north stands the Kantajew Temple, an eighteenth-century building known for its dense terracotta panels, and the town itself keeps the remains of the Dinajpur Rajbari, the old palace of the local rulers. A Dinajpur map poster shows the river, the town and its surrounding fields in one quiet, balanced frame.
The river follows the western side of town in gentle bends, a soft natural line that anchors the poster and separates the dense streets from open farmland.
South of the town, this long rectangular tank cuts a strikingly geometric shape into the plain, one of the clearest landmarks on any map of the area.
The centre is a close mesh of lanes, markets and older neighbourhoods around the railway and main roads, thinning into villages and fields at every edge.

Koteā ko Dinajpur
Dinajpur is home to many families who now live in Dhaka or abroad, and a map of the town is an understated way to keep it present. The river, the lanes and the great reservoir to the south make a composition that is both personal and quietly graphic.
